The Workers' Compensation Statute in Illinois was drafted to ensure the employee obtains the above benefits without having to prove "negligence".  Thus, Illinois is called a "no-fault" system, meaning it does not matter whether your employer was negligent or not.  Although this standard may seem straight forward, insurance companies for the employer many times dispute the nature and severity of your work injury.  Sometimes disputes can arise as to your ability to perform your job duties.  These insurance companies have attorneys working hard for them -- you should, too.
